ABOUT AXIOM VOYAGE
Axiom Voyage was an electronic music project running from 1991-1994 by Andrew Bernhard. Other more recent projects include Andy Bernhard (techno), Lifestyle D'Vice (drum & bass) and Neuroport (trance/electronic).
"These were some of the first tracks I wrote using the Yamaha SY85 - my first decent synthesizer. Some were arranged purely on the internal sequencer and the rest using Music-X sequencer software on a Commodore Amiga 500 computer. The SY85 had a small abount of sample memory, so most samples were played from the synth itself, but a few tracks used an add-on sampler device for the Amiga.
Unfortunately the sound quality of these recordings is quite poor, mainly due to wear of the tapes the MP3s were created from. However, the tape characteristics do add a little overdrive / warmth to the sound.
The musical style of Axiom Voyage was quite varied and borrows elements of house, techno, electronica and rave, but without actually fitting any particular genre in a commercial way. It was really just music written for the sake of enjoying music with no goal in mind.
I'm sure many will find these tracks amateurish and cheesy, but that's because they are! The reason I've made them available again, is just to make an archive of past material and show where I came from musically. Also I feel they exhibit a young, naive optimism. Something we never get back"

WHAT'S NEXT?
I've been working on a fair few synthpop and electronica tracks, so Axiom Voyage may be resurrected as the name of a brand new project.
